XLam is a manufacturer of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), which are engineered timber panels used as floors, roofs and walls.  XLam’s vision is to establish itself as the leading provider of CLT throughout Australia and beyond. XLam recently announced a new multi-million dollar high-tech manufacturing site which will be located in the Albury Wodonga region. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven QA Technician with the ability to write SOP's and assist in bringing this ‘greenfield project’ into the future.
The role will be responsible for QA testing in the onsite Laboratory and development of SOP's throughout the entire facility.  This position will also maintain XLam’s positive safety behaviour culture, while driving for continued performance improvements and ‘up time’.
To be considered for this position you will have proven experience in a QA Role in a manufacturing environment. You will have excellent computer skills and previous experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) would be highly regarded. To succeed in this position, you will have a very good eye for detail, an analytical mind and be adaptable to new software programs.
You will be systematic when approaching tasks, solving problems, managing projects and reviewing systems and processes, while being flexible to evolving business requirements.
Applicants will have proven abilities within the following areas:
  • Quality Assurance Background, preferably in timber;
  • Sound data entry skills;
  • SOP Experience
  • Have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments
  • A strong focus on community and its people
