Health & Fitness Leader, Active Programming Coordinator

The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking an experienced manager with a passion for health & exercise to join the new team.

You will lead the exercise professionals’ team, grow the numbers of people using the WSAC centre and build the business.  You will be a leader open to new ideas and discovering creative opportunities to get the community moving.  We want your creative ideas for how to get our whole community moving and improving post COVID! 

A solution-focused problem solver, you thrive in a busy leisure centre environment and are confident to lead a team through continuously improving.  You will have hands on knowledge of the fitness and exercise industry, and ideally experience leading successful personal training and group fitness programs.    

Your strong background in management will help support the team to identify process improvements and deliver efficient operations. 

Your experience in working with stakeholders will lead you to develop great relationships with local hospitals, primary care networks and other health providers to identify new opportunities to get more of our community active – through partnerships we can achieve more!

You will have
  • An ability to inspire and lead a team of enthusiastic exercise professionals
  • Knowledge to identify, react and program to industry trends to meet changing customer expectations
  • Extensive experience in coaching a team 
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • A hands on collaborative approach to leisure leadership
Reporting directly to the Precinct manager, this role suits a capable leader, ready to step up and contribute wholeheartedly to our vision of building the best regional sporting precinct in Victoria.

The salary is between the range of $65,208 - $71,138 per annum.
