The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join the team. This leadership role will oversee our occupational therapy services, ensuring high-quality support for young people experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement evidence-based interventions that promote engagement, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered occupational therapy interventions to young people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with other health professionals, educators, families, and community services to provide holistic support.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with best practice guidelines and organisational policies.
- Contribute to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advocate for young people and their right to accessible, effective mental health support.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
- Strong understanding of mental health challenges affecting young people and adults.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, including staff supervision and team development. (Desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with young people, families, and stakeholders effectively.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex cases with a person-centered approach.
- A valid Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and the right to work in Australia.
