About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join a talented kitchen team in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who loves creating exceptional food, enjoys variety, and thrives in both restaurant service and event catering.
You’ll work with quality local produce, lead by example in a fast-paced environment, and help deliver exceptional dining experiences across regular service and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations and menu delivery
Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency across all services and events
Mentor and guide junior kitchen staff to build a strong, cohesive team
Manage stock, ordering, and cost control to maintain profitability
Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance
Contribute to menu development, event planning, and seasonal specials
About You:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
Passionate about food, events, and creating memorable dining experiences
Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
Strong understanding of cost control, stock management, and kitchen systems
Calm under pressure with a strong eye for detail and presentation
