Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson

The Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson will carry out preventative maintenance tasks, project work, and ensure maintenance repairs are completed to a high degree of craftsmanship complying with required statutory standards, commensurate with qualifications. They will ensure tasks are completed in a manner that achieves the Quality, Cost, Safety, Environmental and Schedule requirements and is aligned to business objectives.

The Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson will carry out preventative maintenance tasks, project work, and ensure maintenance repairs are completed to a high degree of craftsmanship complying with required statutory standards, commensurate with qualifications. They will ensure tasks are completed in a manner that achieves the Quality, Cost, Safety, Environmental and Schedule requirements and is aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Mechanical activities are conducted in a manner affecting reliable repairs, preventative measures leading to increased efficiency of plant consistent with the skills outlined in competency-based job models detailed in site agreements
- To maximize plant equipment availability and reliability through the effective use of maintenance resources and maintenance management systems.
- Comply with a daily schedule of maintenance work orders utilizing the MEX system
- Contribute to optimizing labour and material costs and their impact on total manufacturing costs.
- Assisting in planning and scheduling the maintenance for all plant, equipment, and other work carried out by the Maintenance team to meet regulatory standards in safety, health, and the environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Formal trade qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a mechanical trade in a manufacturing environment preferred (not Mandatory)
- Ability to interpret Technical Drawings, Specifications, and Standards.
- Ability to use and calibrate precision measuring equipment.
- Internal Auditing Skills.
- Understanding of ISO9000 Quality Management Systems.
- Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and written.
- Ability to achieve and motivate others to achieve goals.
